Hi Terka, Zuzka, Monika & Kristyna Thanks for the good work you did on your diary entry. I hope you all had a hand in writing it, even though it was Monika who pasted the text into the wiki (learning how to use a wiki is a really useful skill for your studies, future career and life after university in general) :)

You summarised the day's activities quite well, although it would have also been good to follow the model set by the other four groups by adding images and other references to the diary entry. You could also have stated your opinion about why specifically you think CZ is so far behind Austria in its SD strategy (I put the Czech and English versions of the 2012 Czech SD progress report on the main wiki page in case you want to look through it and see what CZ is doing according to international standardised SD indicators). I hope I didn't give too gloomy a picture of the state of affairs in CZ because it's still better than some other post-socialist states (the mere fact that it was a strategy and publishes progress reports is a good start, hence the importance of EU membership).

I now look forward to reading your next assignment! Given that you did communication activities at high school, it should be no problem to communicate together electronically to work on the assignment together :D :D :D

Assignment Two

Well, firstly, I'm just grateful that you managed to complete this second assignment :) and again the English is very good and didn't require much correction.

The comparison between Kaindorf and Slunakov is a bit thin, don't you think? Slunakov is simply an NGO whereas Kaindorf is an agglomeration of several towns and municipalities. Was there no single region or even municipality you could have focused on? The description of Slunakov's activities also seems too broad; without going into its web pages a reader doesn't really know what specific issues Slunakov addresses (what are the topics of its trips and public discussions, for example). How is Slunakov funded and is there any information that would indicate the impact its activities have on the local population? Does it promote local production and regional goods and not just fair trade products imported from far away? Pictures and more references would also be nice.

Okay, in the end I'm just happy that the second assignment was written. Hope the trip had some impact on your thinking about SD!

Good luck for the future.

Andrew
