Students discussion:Group Five: Filip, Lucie H, Karolina, Ivona
Hi Filip, Lucie, Karolina & Ivona
This is very comprehensive and well written; the English is quite excellent, but I wonder who actually wrote it because I can only see one name in the page history - Taille (Lucie?).
I'm glad to see you've followed the model set by the earlier groups of including interesting images and being sure to mention the source. Maybe some links to some Czech national park sites would have been good, too. Yes, it was a pity we didn't walk into the park or at least along the educational path, but unfortunately we were already running a bit late :( Otherwise, I can't fault you for anything in your diary entry - it's a job well done!
Thanks
Andrew
Second assignment: Filip, Ivona & Karolina
Hi guys. Thanks for completing the second assignment. I know you are less confident of your written English than Lucie, so I appreciate that you managed to create something together. I did a lot of editing to improve the English, but it still bears your indelible mark :D I also translated all the Czech expressions, like the names of the programmes offered in Czech Switzerland, and EVVO (Environmental Education, Training and Awareness).
It's interesting that Czech Switzerland was only granted national park status so recently. It would have been good to add something about it's status or history up until then, plus an explanation of where it is in the Czech Republic, a link to the national park website, and some pictures. Information about how many national parks there are in CZ in total and their management (especially in Sumava) would also have been beneficial :) The information about Gesause National Park more or less repeats what Lucie wrote in her diary entry, but I realise your English limits how much you can write.
It conclusion, it's not a bad effort and it would indeed be mutually beneficial if there could be stronger ties between Czech and Austrian national park management and education programmes. Clearly Czech NPs lack the financing to establish the sophisticated educational programmes and interactivity, both physical and virtual, that their Austrian counterparts have. Given the level of acknowledgement of climate change and nature preservation in the Czech Republic, do you think NPs could play an important part in educating the local population about global issues like Gesause does?
