Hi everyone :-) My name is Rosette Kadlecová and I´m 19 years old. I am from Czech Republic and I come from Jablonec nad Nisou, small town situated in Jizerské Mountains. I currently study Transcultural Communication at University of Hradec Králové. I love wandering in the forests and travelling, stargazing, dancing, reading and swimming, meeting new people. I´m really looking forward to Spring School as I wish to broaden my knowledge on SD. I am especially interested in Sustainable living and Organic agriculture and I am also quite curious if a topic of cultural ecology will be mentioned.

2. I am really fond of municipality Jindřichovice pod Smrkem(situated in Liberecký region) where Sustainable Development is supported by both, inhabitants and authorities. Jindřichovice has its own environmental information centre, wind power plant, they also support low energy ecohouses. There is also living skanzen Lunaria which you can visit. http://www.jindrichovice.cz/en/web/municipality/development/housing/

Final assignment

Spring School was very enriching experience and I am really thankful for opportunity to participate. Now, I am able to uderstand concept of sustainable development much better. During amazing week filled with fun and learning a gained valuable information about main aspects of SD. All topics I have learned about and presentations I´ve heard were interesting and some of them(decoupling) were entirely new for me. Because I studied tourism I enjoyed presentations on sustainable tourism and geoconservation in Hateg Country Dinosaur Geopark very much. However the most engaging topics for me were Food systems and Sustainability and Waste. I simply like the fact that no one can say: “food and waste doesn´t concern me.“ These topics make it obvious that sustainability is something we should take into account in everything we do. Spring School helped me realize once again that we, each one of us, are those who can and should make a chage for better, starting from ourselves and continuing with providing information to our family memebers, neighbours, friends,... I am very happy that we´ve had a lot of fun and learned through games. It inspired me and shown me some of possible ways how to include SD in my work with children. I am definitely going to carry on and learn as much as I can about sustainability. This course brought in more light and helped me to shape my point of view on my current studies of culture. If I should name one and main advantage of the course it would be people. I am really grateful that I had a chance to meet each of participants. If you are reading this: “Thank you for being so wonderful.“
