The field trip begins perfectly and everything goes smoothly after picking up 10 students in Prague, or at least it was smooth until we hit the D1 and its infamous corrugations in our minibus when we [File:IMG 4392.JPG|thumb|Arrival in Graz] could feel each and every hairline crack in the road surface. We got to the Brno pick-up point half-an-hour late, but the students had been forewarned and so they could relax over a cup of coffee. The trip into Austria was literally a lot smoother and we got to Graz exactly at the time we expected - 18.00. We parked the bus, settled into our rooms at the JUFA youth hostel and came together for the first meal of the trip. Some explanations of what to expect over the following days were made, followed by some quick introductions in English to ascertain the level of English among the students. It was free time after that, with one group of students heading off into the city, only to get lost on the way back...
