Dr. Susanne Janschitz

Susanne Janschitz (1968, AT) holds a Master in Natural Sciences (Major Mathematics) and a PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Klagenfurt, Austria. Between 1992 and 1998 she worked as a project assistant and assistant professor at the Department of Geography, University of Klagenfurt. Since 1998 she is Research Assistant at the Institute of Geography and Regional Science, University of Graz. Together with Professor Zimmermann she developed and managed an annual International Symposium, a three-week Summer University as well as an e-learning based MSc. program on “Regional Policies and Development in Europe”. Her research experiences are in the application of geographic information systems, sustainable regional development and planning, and cross-border cooperation.
