Prof. Dr. Rietje van Dam-Mieras

Rietje van Dam-Mieras studied chemistry at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, and got a PhD at the same university in 1976. She worked at Maastricht University and the Open University of the Netherlands. In 1993 she was appointed as professor of natural sciences, especially biochemistry and biotechnology, at the School of Science, Open University of the Netherlands. In addition, she is or has been a member of numerous advisory committees and supervisory boards of universities in the Netherlands and Germany, university associations, research institutes and science foundations, the national government and multinational companies. She has written and contributed to numerous publications on topics such as globalization and innovation in higher education, developments in science and technology education, and learning for sustainable development.
