Mario Diethart has worked as a research associate at the Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCE) Graz-Styria at the University of Graz, Austria, since 2009. In the same year he finished his studies in Environmental System Sciences, focusing on geography, at the University of Graz. He has experience in research within EU ERASMUS and EU TEMPUS projects dealing with education for sustainable development and e-learning. From 2010–2012 he worked in the EU project ICTeESD, where a virtual Joint Master Degree based on e-learning was developed. A further project – Sustainicum – funded by the Austrian Ministry of Science and Research, dealt with fostering sustainable development in higher education teaching by developing innovative teaching modules and methods. Mario was also involved in the organization of the first sustainability field trip to Austria in September 2012.
