[[Concept of sustainabiliy]]
Sustainability is very important thing. I prefer the concept of self-sufficiency within sustainability.
For example, to much food and drink are transported from great distances. This is very bad and nonsensical. Support for our farmers and agriculture is very important because it is not good  when the state is reliant on another countries.

Things should be recyclable and always reused. Science should focus on sustainable production, if possible.

I participated on the German sustainability field trip to Lüneburg.

1. Day - We were in the city of Lüneburg today. The weather was nice and sunny.
In the afternoon we went to Leuphana university and we had two lectures.
We participated more in the second lecture. We had to come up with some ideas on how make our university more sustainable. This lecture was presented by students from Oikos. We had 4 groups. The ideas were about insects, lifts, fair trade. This lecture was well prepared.

2. Day

We had one lecture about 100% renewable energy in Germany and Lüneburg.  I did not enjoy this lecture.
Then we went through the campus of Leuphana university. We got to know for example about its own solar electricity production. We observed how much electricity was produced.
We were in the landfill in the afternoon. This landfill was restored and they have their own windmills for electricity production. They have solar production. They use the gas from the waste.
We went into Hamburg after this excursion. We had free time. We went through the tunnel under the Elbe and we were in a church. We saw the city from the tower of the church. Hamburg is such a big city.

3. Day

We were at the Alfred Töpfer Academy for landscape protection. In the "Hof Möhr" we had a lecture about environmental education. Then we went to "Lüneburg Heath". This heath is very poor. The soil is not so fertile. The people breed sheep, they fertilize the soil and enrich it with nitrogen.
We went to Bauck Hof near Lüneburg in the afternoon. We had lunch there and then we had an excursion through the farm. This farm was biodynamic. They breed cows and chickens, and grow vegetables. Our agriculture is close [?]. The farmer does not buy things. Young people could come and enjoy the agriculture and farm. The farm provides environmental education.
After the tour we went to the farm shop and had coffee. We discussed agriculture with the farmer.
Then we went to the city and to the hostel.

4. Day

We had two lectures today. The first was about the Green politic party and their activities. The politic party is against nuclear energy. The whole of Germany does not want nuclear energy. I think it would be better to go into a lab and research what to do with radioactive waste or change the character of uranium into a safer character. Most people scream against this problem. It is understandable. I would like to hear something about the research on this topic.
In another lecture we spoke with the leader of one NGO "Dialog N" at Lüneburg University.
She had very good English and the organisation attempts to undertake action days, workshops,..and other things for the public. We wrote important things about sustainability.
We went into Hamburg in the afternoon and we visited the IBA Exhibition about houses, and how they are smart and climate neutral. Then we visited the open show of these houses. The last stop was in an Energy Bunker.

This day we got to know something about regional development in this region. We provided our reflection on the whole week and we went back to the Czech Republic.
We participated in a World Cafe and we spoke about important things about topics.
I was very pleased with the whole week. I got to know new things and topics and in particular I improved my English.

I enjoyed the lecture from Annegret Kühne. Her activities are very interesting.
She wants to show people how they have a better life and reduce consumption. She wants to involve all people in a dialogue and support all to be active and be able to voice their own ideas. It is a shame that in the time when we were in Lüneburg was any action on this topic in the campus [??].
Within her activities she makes  framework programmes and action-days.
I would imagine enjoying activities from this NGO in its the next summer school.

I enjoyed the lecture from the students from the Oikos initiative. Oikos attempts to make the Leuphana university sustainble. Their lecture was very interesting and fresh.

About me

I was born in the city of Děčín, near the border with Germany.

I am studying at UJEP at the Faculty of Environment in Ústí nad Labem. My master's thesis is about chemistry, specifically "Phospholipids in soil". I am just starting it now.

I was in Germany during my studies. I was in Dresden for one year at TU Dresden. It was a very nice year. I met very nice and friendly people and learned new things and a new culture. I know German very well. I have a B2 certificate in the German language.

Hopefully I will go back. I am searching for possibilities of how to get there, maybe for a traineeship or a job in a company. Companies in Germany are more open to students.

Concept of sustainability

Sustainability is very important thing. I prefer the concept of self-sufficiency within sustainability. For example, to much food and drink are transported from great distances. This is very bad and nonsensical. Support for our farmers and agriculture is very important because it is not good when the state is reliant on another countries.

Things should be recyclable and always reused. Science should focus on sustainable production, if possible.

We could use raw materials that we can always reuse.

People should conserve water and energy, and recycle waste.

The basis for this is education of people and explanations of the reasons for taking sustainable steps.
